Greetings,

For those of you who do not know me or have not yet met me…my name is Daron Babin. I am the new State Director for Norml in Arizona. Albeit I was only the Co-director for a short period of time…I have been involved with NIA since January. I started in January immediately being elected to the Board of Directors, as I’ve had many years of Media & Communications on my resume.

I became aware of the rough history between some of the old supporters of Norml here in Arizona and the leadership that we had. Being new, I had the luxury of personally not having to share or bare that history. In what was considered “the best interest” of the organization…Kathy Inman made the decision to resign the State Director position and pass the baton to me.

I won’t go into the specifics, about the transition…Kathy has been involved for many years. She has volunteers many hours of her time, and done what she felt was in the best interest of this organization. That included her resignation after all this time.

I have not stood at the helm of a state wide non-profit organization such as this before. I have stated this publicly. So, as I did when I said this then…I will say this now. I ask you all to bear with me and be patient with me. If you feel I could be doing something better, please let me know. The channels of communication are open. I can easily be contacted and am available most all the time.

This is a two-year position, and I am only in this position until the elections in January.

In the meantime, I will do my best to do everything I can that is right by The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

Thank you,

Daron Babin
