Arizona NORML welcomes sponsors and is eager to promote AZ cannabis businesses through our work. Take a look at our sponsor page and if your business would like to join us in our efforts, please Contact AZ-NORML Today!
Arizona NORML works for all Arizonans, whether members or not. All meetings and online resources are available to the general public. Arizona NORML is an independent chapter of National NORML. Membership in national NORML is not the same as supporting our Arizona chapter directly. Membership dues help AZ-NORML operate and are greatly appreciated. Our volunteer members are the driving force behind our chapter.
AZ-NORML Membership levels:
Volunteer/Member: $15 per year and two hours volunteer-time per month. Normal NORML member: $35 per year. Supporting Member: $100 per year. Sponsor: Contact AZ-NORML.
In addition to a one-year membership card and bragging rights, members receive their choice of one of each (Arizona NORML tee-shirt, specify size OR NORML gold leaf logo pin) AND 1 of each (NORML lighter OR AZ-NORML button). Members also receive monthly email newsletters, weekly news updates, and opportunities to join monthly meetings via ZOOM and Facebook Live.
As ridiculously punitive and unlikely as that may sound, it is not uncommon for Arizona law enforcement to take as much as six months to follow through on an arrest. Until Arizona legalizes cannabis, ALL cannabis charges begin as class 6 felonies and any convictions can result in jail time, fines, probation and potential revocation of an AZDHS medical card. AZ-NORML recommends vigorously challenging any legal charges to prevent them from permanently damaging your record.
The most important piece of advice is to remain calm and contact AZ-NORML asap. Contact our HOTLINE 928-234-5633.
Our office can provide critical non-legal advice to help you prepare your case. More importantly, we work extensively with the Arizona Cannabis Bar Association to refer cannabis lawyers around the state for a variety of criminal and civil cannabis law issues, including DCS challenges and dependency court. Our nationally renowned legal counsel, Tom Dean, or ACABA vice president Sonia Martinez, can frequently provide an initial phone consult free of charge to people referred by NORML.
That COULD happen this year if Arizona voters approve Smart and Safe Arizona’s 2020 legalization campaign. I can promise you we’re doing our damnedest. The Smart and Safe Arizona campaign has already gathered 320,000 signatures, apx 80,000 more than necessary. The deadline is June 30th. Arizona NORML works with the campaign to coordinate volunteer efforts and has worked with activists around the state.
Here is a link to the initiative language. This is our summary of the major points. Volunteers are needed for traditional canvassing/phone banking, signage, event organizing and social media.
