Marijuana.com is very proud to to welcome Orange County’s first ever fully licensed marijuana dispensary, South Coast Safe Access. This state-of-the-art shop’s legal opening is a bit of a historic event for Orange County, a piece of tangible evidence that shows the how far attitudes are evolving out here in our beautiful neck of the woods.

While medical marijuana has been permitted in in California since 1996, when voters passed Proposition 215, federal laws have been enforced to shut down numerous dispensaries and delivery services over the years. In 2007 the Santa Ana City Council members voted unanimously to pass a measure outlawing storefront medical marijuana dispensaries altogether, however the council did leave a door cracked open for patients to receive their medicine through hospitals and state-licensed care centers. These measures and laws created a rather confusing grey area that has led to numerous shops getting shut down and prosecuted, often to the fullest extent of federal law. Thanks to Measure BB, these dark days are behind us, and we couldn’t be happier to see South Coast Safe Access leading the charge with their new state-of-the-art shop that’s been designed to give patients a true Ritz Carlton experience.

Owner Derek Worden and his partners were one of only 20 “golden ticket” lottery winners selected for the opportunity to apply for a license to open a legal medical marijuana storefront in Santa Ana. The South Coast Safe Access group is the very first operation to make it through the city’s rigorous vetting process, and they’re throwing a huge kick off party in celebration of this important milestone. SCSA is ready to open its doors and begin serving Orange County’s patient needs.

On Saturday, August 15 SCSA’s patient appreciation day and grand opening celebration event will offer:
