This past weekend’s 6th Annual Clinic Charity Classic Golf Tournament, benefiting the Colorado Multiple Sclerosis Society, was a fabulous event for a spectacular cause.

The tournament’s goal is to bring awareness to the public about the National MS Society and the incredible work they are doing for those affected with MS. Giving back to the community is a responsibility we cherish at Weedmaps, and we are proud to have played a role in helping to raise over $280,000 for the MS Society since 2009, an amazing feat that could not have been achieved without the support of many generous sponsors, employees, patients and golfers. The 2014 charity tournament was able to raise the year’s single largest donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

This year’s sold out event was another outstanding success and a continuing example of what people in our industry can accomplish when we unite our collective power to do something about MS now. The generous 2015 attendees contributed the largest out-of-pocket donations in the tournament’s history. Weedmaps is always proud to partner with the Colorado MS Society, and is thrilled to have been able to sponsor a hole as well as contribute an additional $5,000 for this incredibly worthy foundation. Native Roots took 1st place and Weedmaps took 2nd.

The MS Society estimates that more than 2.3 million people are affected by MS worldwide. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. The cause of MS is still unknown – scientists believe the disease is triggered by as-yet-unidentified environmental factor(s) in a person who is genetically predisposed to respond.
