Dear Representative,

Just a quick letter to remind you that one of the most important medical marijuana bills of the entire decade is coming up for a vote soon: SB1494, a cannabis testing bill sponsored by Sen David Gowan. This bill is the product of three years of progress on the issue and has gone through 6 stakeholder meetings since it was filed to make sure it is the best possible language on this critical issue. As Dr Randy Friese says, we don’t want ‘perfect’ to become the enemy of the ‘good.’

Admittedly, nothing is perfect.  But this bill is very good.

Those who know me well, know that I absolutely understand the importance of caucus unity. But the health and safety of my 200,000 fellow Arizona medical marijuana patients remains my first concern. There are those who will say, “it’s too soon,” or, “we can make a better bill next year.” They are clearly not the people whose lives depend on MMJ. I ask you to think of the MMJ patients in your district, in your social circle, in your families, and vote yes for their sake.

I have faith in my legislators, I have faith in this bill. It is the right thing. Please do the right thing and vote yes on SB1494.
